Buyant Hotel
Though historically regarded as the best hotel in town, some recent additions to the cityscape have challenged the Buyant for the top spot. The three-story brick hotel has 15 rooms.
Grand Hotel
The bright orange and white Grand Hotel is on the second floor above the popular "Winner's Cafe." It can be accessed through a side entrance; the main office is at the top of the stairs on the left. There are 7 Simple Rooms in the Grand, containing a total of 22 beds.
Myangan Ugalzat Hotel
Opened in 2003, this plain white, sprawling two-story hotel is clean and comfortable and has 16 rooms with a variety of bed combinations mostly double and triple.
Tsambagarav Hotel
The newest hotel in Hovd opened in November 2007. The three-story bright blue Tsambagarav has 20 rooms, a restaurant, a full-size snooker table, and is planning to open a pub, internet cafe, and karaoke room soon. There are 7 Lux Rooms in the hotel, including 2 Master Lux Rooms and Lux doubles and triples. There are a total of 7 Half-Lux doubles and triples, and 1 Half-Lux single. There are also 5 Simple Rooms.
Tushig Hotel
Opened in 2007, the Tushig is easy to miss, but travelers who overlook it will be overlooking a very comfortable and economical place to stay. The three-story, mint-green Tushig has a friendly staff and a manager that speaks some basic English. The hotel has 5 rooms - 1 Lux Room, 1 Half-Lux Room with 2 beds, and 3 Simple Rooms: 2 are doubles, the other is a triple.
Ger camps
Strawberry Ger Hostel
Ideal for budget travelers looking for an authentic experience of Mongolia, it offers accommodation in traditional Mongolian gers felt tents used by nomads. Pick-up from the airport is available, as well as tea, coffee, and simple Mongolian meals. Groups can also arrange for an authentic Mongolian barbeque by the Buyant River, just outside of town.
